#11 It's LT not BLT

I have a weakness for cookbooks of any type, my librarything is very food orientated.
Cookbooks are like a manual for me. I'm alwys looking for new techniques and new flavours. One day when I have more time, I'll cook til my nonstick becomes unstuck.

Back in September I attended a two day visit to Ballarat, looking at how they manage the various heritage collections held throughout the city. This photograph wa taken under the Tree of Knowledge at Ballarat University.

# RSS feeds.... me more information

I love My Bloglines account ! What a great tool, I've managed to subscribe to several sites that I used to visit on a regular basis just to keep up with whats happening. Now they're all in one spot for me to check. I can see the RSS feeds being a fantastic way of letting library patrons know what's happening in different sections eg. genealogy/local history, children's and adults, whether it's new resources or events.


Not sure about sharing my feeds just yet, I want to collect a few more.

# 3 Teaching a young dog old tricks

While I'm meant to write about new technology that I've found interesting, I think there's still lots of "old" stuff, that we take for granted. For instance, I was recently left speechless when watching a younger member of my family attempt to use a bottle opener. They didn't know how it worked. Yet this same person has an incredible Myspace page and knows how to use MP3 players and all the latest gadgets. Go figure!

On the technology angle, I've got a PDF converter program thats proved itself very useful over the years. Take any PDF document, run the converter and presto, you have a document you can edit, or do whatever you need to. Also handy when no one has a copy of the original document the PDF was created from.

Where has all the time gone?
I was going to be sooooooo diligent and keep up with the Learning 2.0 program. I need to think more like the little engine that could rather than the little engine that doesn't have time.
